PIONEERS IN SOUND TECHNOLOGY FOR RELAXATION AND SLEEP
Dreampad products use a unique, patented technology that sends soothing sounds and sleep music through gentle vibrations to your body, that only you can hear, triggering a natural calming response. Allowing your brain to slow down, relax, and send you off to dream quickly for a quality night's sleep. Our products are designed to help those with sleep problems that may be caused by disordered sensory processing (SPD), autism, PTSD, ADHD, and other conditions.
Dreampad audio technology is based on the natural conductivity of the human body. Every time we speak we hear ourselves in two ways: externally and internally. Our voice carries through the airwaves and enters our outer ear; simultaneously, the vibration from our voice box is carried internally, by our bones (which are excellent conductors) to the inner ear.
Dreampad products replicate this natural process by playing audio through transducers which convert the sounds into a type of vibration that travels through solid material (vs. through the airwaves as with speakers). The calming effect of Dreampad products is a result of the vibrational sounds stimulating the vagus nerve, which in turn activates the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). Our PNS helps us regulate stress – if we’re in a state of hyper-arousal, or elevated stress, the PNS is the part of our nervous system which brings us down to a calmer place where we can relax and fall asleep.
Dreampad’s gentle vibrations activate a calming response within your nervous system. This results in a more effective, yet completely different experience for inducing natural, comfortable sleep than by listening through speakers, sound machines, or headphones. Research shows that Dreampad’s unique technology can reduce stress and anxiety, helping you get to sleep and stay asleep.
Of course, you will actually hear the music too. The Dreampad audio technology is designed to provide gentle vibrations from the bone conduction technology, but it also produces sound through the resonance of solid materials built into the pillow. And yet, the pillow is designed so you don’t feel the embedded components.
Another benefit of our Dreampad products is they are JUST FOR YOU! Because of our patented technology, unlike traditional speakers, the sound produced does not carry outside the pillow (unless the volume is set really high). This helps to minimize disturbing others in the room when you’re listening to audio sounds through your Dreampad pillow.

Who should use Dreampad products?
The Dreampad Sleep Collection is for all ages, from toddlers to seniors. More specifically, it is helpful for those who experience stress and have difficulty sleeping. We caution against leaving it in the crib of a child under age one because of SIDS risk.
Do Dreampad products have music inside them?
It’s useful to think of the Dreampad pillow like a speaker - but soft and one that you put your head on. The music or other sounds you listen to are originating from your phone, other smart devices, or music player. When you connect your phone to the Dreampad pillow, you are sending signals to the Dreampad which allows it to play music, just like headphones or speakers.
Do Dreampad products emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR)?
Dreampad products are functionally closer to a speaker than a phone, i.e. it does not emit EMR. However, many people are concerned about radio waves emitted from phones. For those who prefer to be cautious (including us), we suggest putting your phone on Airplane Mode when using it with Dreampad products. In this mode, no radio signals can come in or go out. If you are using the Dreampad music app, the music will still play. Check your other sources to see if you can play while in Airplane Mode. The Dreampad Bluetooth receiver/amplifier does emit a tiny amount of EMR (for comparison purposes, think of your cell phone reaching a tower miles away vs. the Bluetooth which has a reach of about 33 feet). If you are concerned about the EMR from Bluetooth, you can use the extension cord to place the Bluetooth device further away from your bed.
