Caterpillar’s Kitchen is a playful and engaging group designed to help children build confidence and familiarity with new foods through stories, exploration, and creative activities. Each week, we read a picture book or story featuring food, then bring the story to life through hands-on interactions, crafts, and sensory-based food exploration. The focus is not on eating or trying new foods but on fostering a positive and pressure-free relationship with food. This group is perfect for all children who may feel hesitant about new foods but are ready to explore in a fun, supportive environment.
- Increase comfort and confidence in exploring new foods
- Promote felt safety and autonomy while exploring and learning about new foods
- Foster curiosity and positive engagement with different textures, colors, and smells
- Develop fine motor skills through hands-on food-related activities
- Support social interactions and peer modeling in a low-pressure setting
- Encourage language development through storytelling and group discussions
- Build connections between food and fun to create positive mealtime experiences
