Emma graduated with distinction from the University of Colorado Boulder with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a pre-occupational therapy emphasis. Upon graduating, she worked in disability services, providing direct support and assistive technology services. Emma went on to graduate with her doctorate in occupational therapy from Colorado State University. At CSU, Emma served as president of OTech, a student organization focused on assistive technology and universal design in OT. She also served on the board of Diverse OT, promoting equity and inclusion through discussion and education within the field of OT. Additionally, Emma was the Assistive Technology Graduate Teaching Assistant and taught all assistive technology labs to the CSU OT cohorts. Emma completed her first Level II fieldwork at an adolescent and adult acute mental health care facility and her second in the sensory integration and autism practice area at a hospital-based outpatient pediatric clinic. Emma's doctoral capstone project addressed puberty-related challenges faced by neurodivergent adolescents through education, resources, and therapeutic interventions. Emma is especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent and disabled youth using neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed approaches.
