Salary/Range (Commensurate with experience): $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Current licensure in the state of Colorado and eligibility for Medicaid reimbursement.


STAR Institute is seeking an experienced and passionate Adolescent & Adult Occupational Therapist to join our team in Centennial, Colorado. STAR specializes in supporting individuals and families with differences in the sensory integrative process through a neurodiversity-affirming, client-led, and family-centered approach. 

Our clinical model is grounded in the STAR Frame of Reference, requiring training in Ayres Sensory Integration® and the DIR/Floortime model (Greenspan). We are committed to neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and evidence-based practice. 

About the Role 

The Adolescent & Adult OT will provide specialist assessment and intervention for adolescents and adults with sensory processing differences and related developmental, learning, mental health, and behavioral challenges, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, learning differences, auditory processing differences, motor coordination differences, and sensory processing disorder (SPD). 

This clinician will work closely with the directors to ensure therapy services are effective, well-coordinated, and aligned with current evidence-based practices and outcome measures. The role includes clinical leadership within the adult team, oversight of caseload coordination, and contributing to operational and program development initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Participate in comprehensive evaluations 
  • Provide individual and group therapy using the STAR PROCESS treatment method 
  • Conduct advanced, specialist assessments for adolescents and adults 
  • Develop and implement evidence-based, sensory-informed intervention plans 
  • Evaluate outcomes using appropriate, standardized outcome measures 
  • Document progress through timely and thorough treatment notes 
  • Provide education and coaching to clients and families 
  • Communicate directly with physicians and external healthcare providers 
  • Collaborate with leadership on delegated operational responsibilities to ensure effective, coordinated services 
  • Contribute to team development and a culture of ongoing learning and clinical excellence 

STAR team members must love to learn and be committed to remaining at the forefront of research and best practices in sensory integration and neurodevelopment. Extensive mentorship and supervision are provided. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5 years post-registration experience as an Occupational Therapist 
  • At least 3 years in mental health OT practice (adult focus strongly preferred) 
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise in assessment, treatment, and documentation of sensory-based practices 
  • Experience using a wide range of adult assessment tools 
  • Comfortable practicing in a neurodivergent-affirming setting 
  • Eligible for Medicaid service provision 
  • Current or eligible for OT licensure in the state of Colorado

Physical Requirements
